March Meeting

It's been a while since I've had the chance to update you all on the March Meeting!

We started off by talking about our last fundraiser. We are hosting a golf tournament on May 30th. Each team member needs to find at least one foursome and needs three silent auction items. I won't bore you with all of the details though.

We then moved onto talking about Vacation Bible School. When Jamie announced that we would be doing The Kingdom of the Son I got really excited. That's the first Vacation Bible School that I've ever helped with. I decided to do crafts. It's hard to come up with crafts to do with hundreds of kids, especially when you are limited to a certain amount of room for supplies. We already have some great ideas though, so I'm sure it will all work out.

Jamie also announced that we would be having a soccer cleat drive. Kids in Africa are in love with soccer. They make balls out of trash, and pretty much play all day. The only problem is that they can't get on a Kenyan Recreational League team unless they have matching shirts and pants. Luckily, a minor league team (who's name has slipped my mind) has donated all of their old jerseys to us! We have all kinds of gear, we are just missing cleats. Hopefully the cleat drive will be a success!
